And those Heroes are the countries Search and Rescue dogs.

Three hundred SAR (Search And Rescue) dogs of all breeds were
brought in to find survivors and, ultimately, to find the dead.
Two dogs have already lost their lives.
These SAR teams are voluntary; handlers pay for their dogs' training and their travel, lodging and food expenses. They put themselves and
their beloved dogs at risk to save the lives and retrieve the bodies of humans.
While watching the horrible disaster as every one has, my focus was a lot on the rescue workers. And YES...the dogs. I use to teach obedience, till I became wheelchair bound. I have a very GREAT respect for these dogs. And they do it all for a pat on the head, a toy of some sort and even just a verbal praise "Good Boy". I think the scene/story that prompted me to do this was the story of the blind man that was lead down 73(?) floors with his beautiful yellow lab. That brought tears to my eyes. The dedication this dog had to help his owner. Then to see these dogs working through all the rubble and glass, was proof of the dedication and training of these great animals.
Any ways, that was my motivation to do this fund raiser.
Proceeds will be sent to the K-9 Search and Rescue
We need to make sure these great dogs are continually being trained.
